THE DESIGN AND PROTOTYPE PROCESS
IDEATION
The Ideation process was a lot of scribbling and coming up with sketch wireframes for what the app would look like and where all the features would be placed. A notebook, pen and a few sticky notes were my best friends during this process.
WIREFRAMING
Once I had rough drafts of the app screens I moved on to developing a more concrete skeleton of what the app would look like.
PROTOTYPE
With a full set of wireframes, it was finally time to make the app into a working prototype. It was the most fulfilling part of the process - designing a user journey and seeing how one would interact with the app, in reality, was quite exciting. For this process, I worked on Adobe XD and InVision. Try it below!
PERSONAS
For this project, I also developed personas that helped me understand better what a user might expect from the app in terms of interaction and output.
JOURNEY MAPPING
Delving further in the journey of understanding user expectations, I also created a journey map where we follow the journey of Kiara, a potential user as she navigates the app trying to look for a knitting club.
This helped me better understand individual user journey's and how to mould those while designing the app.
