Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, 1932

Set in a dystopian futuristic World State, Brave New World presents in its narrative a world where through technological advancement man can manipulate reproductive methods, sleep and other psychological, cognitive functions and conditions. Our protagonist, of course, challenges that.

Huxley is great not only for his brilliant narratives but as a great study in language and its manipulation for the purpose of storytelling and disseminating information. This can be observed in his essays too. Recommend highly.
